High Rock today, Pulpit yesterday

Post by Dan T »

Mark C. asked me to post that he's heading to High Rock from the Pulpit today
Sunday. He should be there shortly. He's hopeful some other pilots will
show up.

Yesterday Dave Procter, Bacil, Mark and I all had OTB XCs from the Pulpit.
Conditions down low were pretty scratchy from the North Cross and there weren't
a whole lot of trains out of the station. I finally started my drift otb
after catching one that took me to about 1200 over launch and was consistent
enough that I was confident I would keep climbing through most of the transition
zone to the back edge of the ridges. By the time I reached the valley floor I
was better than 2k over.

I found the best lift in the valley right at the tail end of the long street
that Bacil and Mark were in. I wound up landing about 2 1/2 miles north of 40
and east of Mercersburg, Mark landed nearby, Bacil a little shorter.

All in all a good day in challenging conditions.
