hangin tuff

Post by hepcat1989 »

I got home from surgery last night at 7:30. What a day yesterday.I got to the hospital at 5:30 am.I was waiting to be checked in ,and all that stuff.I then picked up a magazine to look at. I chose a photography magazine, because I would like to snap some shots from the air sometime.The first add in the mag was one of a remote control to snap shots hooked onto a TALON doing a big bank.I thought wow, good omen! I then got to the O.R. at 7:30 prompt.I was on the table for 3 hrs. They had to put in a breathing tube,and all that.The surgeon Dr. O-Malley had to fuse two disks, and a bone spur that had grown near the bad disks. He said that the one disk was completly ruptured, and spewing out the jelly!After surgery, and coming around, and all that. I found no slice on my hip. The surgeon had used pre-made bone pieces from a CADAVER!Pretty sweet- less healing. I am an organ doner, are you? My throat is pretty sore this morning,but i'm up ,and about just fine. The DR. said that if all heals up ok, maybe three or four months I can resume flying activities. The staff at Washinton co. was absolutly superb. Very nice nurses there. Just hangin out for now! peace, Shawn

Shawn;

Heal well and come back flying soon as you can. In the meantime, enjoy the time off from the regular pressures of life as much as possible. -Linda B.
