Options for Sun26Feb?
Seems like there's a chance of a late-day NW swing in the 3k forecast out at Woodstock tomorrow.... And there could also be a mostly SW day at Taylor, if you believe the the sfc hourly.... Anyone thinking of giving either site a go?

I am going to Woodstock. ETA noon. Bacil
Re: Options for Sun26Feb?
Bacil called at 12:50 PM, told me he was at launch, cycles were nice and that he didn't bring his glider and he would be happy to help/assist on all fronts (from launch to retrieve and most importantly hang out with my kids). So, around 1PM I decided and told Bacil my ETA would be just after 3 PM.
Reached launch at 3:08 PM. I unloaded the glider and started setting up and kids were with Bacil. He showed them ground in winters is like a natural refrigerator and they dug a hole and put a water bottle in it to see how cold it got.
The conditions were good, strong, a few cross cycles but generally within the flying envelope.
Around 4:15 I launched with Bacil's assist. I hung around launch, chit chatting with my kids on the radio until they drove down to LZ that's when I headed North. My instrument was showing WNW and sometimes WSW. Ridge was soarable, few sharp gust here and there. I turned South and made my way to Edinburg gap, found 2 small thermals which took me just over 3500 feet. To summarize the flight became more of a bird spotting flight Saw Bald Eagels, Turkey Vultures and red tail hawks.
Bacil kept me well informed about wind conditions and direction at LZ and I did the same from above 3K. Landed around 5:30, broke down and we drove up to launch where my car was. Had a nice chat in parking at launch and then we called it a day.
It was a beautiful day at Woodstock. Mid 50s at launch, so I wore my summer gloves though at 3K it did get chilly but it wasn't bad. Couldn't have done without the unprecedented support Bacil extended, what a guy!
