Couple Club Updates

1) Last call for board officer nominations. We’re finalizing the slate of nominees for your 2023 club officers. If there are any additional nominations, please provide those by the end of the week. We plan to finalize the slate prior to scheduling an annual meeting of members in February (date forthcoming).

2) RRG Rates for 2023. USHPA just notified us of the premium rate schedule for 2023-2024 and there is a significant increase forthcoming in the premium costs for insuring our sites and landowners. We are working through the precise cost and budget implications and will have more detail for discussion at the February meeting.

3). Annual DC Kite Festival. We’ve again been invited to participate in the annual kite festival https://nationalcherryblossomfestival.o ... -festival/ on the mall on Saturday March 25th. If there is anyone who would like to organize our presence this year, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. We usually have a hang-glider set up for people (kids) to “hang” in and the paragliders are encouraged to “kite” their wings (the one day a year when this is fully authorized!). So LET ME KNOW if you want to spear-head this opportunity this year.

2. The board will consider measures to reconcile the budget with the increased insurance premiums, to include closing Hogback and/or increasing membership dues.
