Reminder, Meeting Wednesday

I hope to see everyone Wednesday night for BBQ, pool and flying stories (http://www.chgpa.org/Events/events.html). ??We’ll discuss XC flying from Woodstock, the annual reserve repack as well as the High Rock and Pulpit Fly-ins. ?In a special command performance, crowd favorite Karen Carra will amaze you with an electrifying encore performance in the role of club secretary (filling in for Ralph who can’t come). ??You won’t soon forget her meeting minutes minuet.

We’ll gather at 7pm for pool and 8-ish for the meeting.? If you haven’t already, please RSVP with me for pool so I reserve the right number of tables.?

The rental rate per table per hour are reasonable: $12 for two people ($6 per person); $16 for four people ($4 per person). ??

While I would love to come to the meeting tonight, after finding out the location is a bar in VA I decided to stay home. I just can't deal with spending a couple of hours in an ashtray. Am I alone here or are there others that either find smoke disgusting or suffer ill effects from exposure??? Lassicks was barely tolerable. Find anyplace in Montgomery county.

Hi, Dave-

We have a private lounge away from the physical bar (right turn from
main entrance). I went there at the same time as our meeting will be to
check out the place. Definitely a step up in air quality from Lassicks
which was a serious ashtray! I don't think you'll have any problems.

I had my own doubts, but it turned out to be a good venue for a
meeting. No smoke issues. Fun on the pool tables. Much more
reasonable menu than 94 Aerosquadron. And a reasonably quiet and
private place to hold our meeting. Parking's not as easy as
Lassik's, but there's adequate parking in the nearby neighborhoods
(after 6pm) within a 5-minute walk. And it's close to Metro. I
think they were happy with us, too. Could have long-term potential.

We didn't notice a lot of smoke - the place had high ceilings and was
pretty well ventilated. It doesn't seem to matter where we hold the
meetings - those who complained about Lasick's don't show up even now
that we're meeting in other locations. OK, Dave, help Daniel find a
location in Monkey County! - Hugh
