I am thinking Elizabethville will be a good choice too.

Trying to work up some enthusiasm for the Pulpit.... Fairly SW on Sat, a bit more W/WSW on Sunday (at least for a few hours). Higher chance of storms on Sat. 3k winds go pretty hard SW on Sunday. What to do?

No worries. Once airborne and soaring during the good direction hours get high and go OTB. I look to launch between 10A and 11A, provided it's soarable (14+ MPH base wind on the Holfuy). Bacil

And it's soarable right now . Bacil

Seems like the better wind-direction day at the Pulpit was today... Considered it this AM, but the clouds and risk of storms and the gusty winds made for a "meh". Went for a run instead.
Tomorrow's forecast seems to be going notably SW, so my enthusiasm level is not high... But I'll at least have a look in the morning.

Met up around 9:45A w/ Fred Briggs, a old time pilot who's getting back into flying after a 10 year absence. Met Fred over at the HC2021. He and I, along w/ others, drove retrieve for the pilots. Leisurely gave Fred a site briefing while waiting for Alex to show up at noon. Noon thirty Alex pulls in, sets up quickly, and w/ an assist from Fred, Rich B., and I, executes a good launch. The flight plan was to beeline it for the secondary and land to the south, since the valley flow was from the south. Alex hit some strong lift crabbing out to the secondary; I feel an experienced pilot could've climbed out in the lift. He executed an accurate approach and had a nice landing in the secondary. This was Alex 3rd flight at the Pulpit, his 2nd landing in the secondary, and his 4th mountain flight. He is developing well towards a future Hang 3 rating. Bacil
