Permits for Flying Shenandoah National Park

Post by eggzkitz »

CHGPA Members -

2021 is upon us (thankfully) and many of you are applying for your annual SNP special use permit. Please keep in mind that for the permit to be granted, your CHGPA club membership must be in good standing AND you must provide a copy of your USHPA rating card with the requisite certifications (P3/H3 with cliff launch). The park has updated the permit on the website with this requirement and has asked us to make sure that all applications are complete to streamline the turnaround process. Here is the link for the application: https://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/ ... ng_508.pdf. We've got a good relationship with the park now, and the permits are getting turned around in record time, so let's work to keep it that way!

Let me know if you have questions or suggestions.

Thanks,
Jeff
