Smithsburg Sunday Dec. 6th
I believe Anthony will have a(some) student(s) out at the training hill. Looks like a perfect day to get a few takeoffs and landings in. High temp of 41 degrees . I'm up for it. Bacil

If it's too overcast to fly sailplanes think I'll join you guys at Smithsburg.

Heading to Blue Sky tommorow to pickup 2 trainers. ETA 10:30AM. Steve said it was OK. I'm out tomorrow. But I'll have 4 training gliders as of tomorrow evening. 2 Condor 225s, 1 F2 195 and a 141 Firefly. Plus, I have another F195 I need to pickup one of these days. A Super Sport 163 is available if anyone wants it and an Eagle 164 for cheap.

I'm considering a practice day at Smithsburg too, unless the outlook for WStock improves tomorrow.

Think I'll unfurl the Falcon at S'burg today. Bacil/Charley at 3... what times are others showing up? I won't fly w/o someone else there.
Might fly a sailplane in the am before doing the HG thing...

Re: Smithsburg Sunday Dec. 6th
Got to the 'burg around 1P to moderate conditions and cool temps. Jon Brantley arrived a half hour later w/ his still crispy S3 155. As we were setting up good 'ole Eddie Miller, the legend of Smithsburg himself, pulled up. A nice reunion ensued. I led the charge and did 2 flights before calling it quits. The air was squirrelly again, with gradients on the hill (again!). 1st takeoff a repeat of the 1st takeoff 2 weeks ago, with the nose yawing north (again!), before straightening out as the glider gained back the airspeed it lost and then some. 2nd flight much better. Thanks to Eddie for the launch assistance. As I broke down, Danny Brotto arrived after taking up a passenger in a sailplane over at the MASA gliderport. As Danny quickly set up his Falcon in the waning sunlight, Jon got in 2 hops in the still squirrelly air on his crispy S3 155. Then it was Danny's turn; he got in 2 hops in the yet still squirrelly air before the sun set at 4:42P. The high temp was 42 degrees. When I pulled away just after sunset, the truck thermometer said 36 degrees . A quick drop after the sun dropped below the horizon. Bacil
