Looks pretty good so far. I'm off all next week. Meeting up w/ Joe Gorrie, who's newly retired. Anybody else interested? Bacil

I'm interested but looks potentially blown out with 16mph winds. Thoughts? If there's interest could do my place instead, same direction but can handle higher winds. Posted on hyner site as well.

Arrived at the SAC launch at 9:15A to easily soarable conditions and cloud streets approaching from the north. Alerted Joe that I would be ready to go in an hour. With Joe and Karen's help, I had a good launch in a moderate cycle around 10:30A+ and got up easily. Relaxed and climbed out just above launch and headed west, with a goal of Carlisle Airport yet again. Jumped the two gaps, sharing the air with at least a dozen? different bald eagles along the ~ 12 mile stretch of the ridge. Most were immature, with an immature and mature pair playing talon lock and tumble at 3500' MSL. No clouds were towards the river, so I halted, climbed out, and went OTB. Wanted to get onto Berry Mountain by Elizabethville, but all I saw was corn, corn, corn in the fields. Lost the lift in the middle of the valley, and found a large, wide open cut field, bordered on the north and south sides by dark green soybeans. Could see the wind lines on the fields, showing a fresh breeze from the north on the ground. Got down on the deck thru some chop, and had a nice easy landing with an appreciable headwind, just over 14 miles from launch. Just across the street a nice young Amish woman greeted me at her roadside fresh flower stand. Ada allowed me to break the glider down in her front yard, sheltered from the gusty winds on the ground. Charlie Allen called me, and gave me a ride back to launch. To pay it forward, I volunteered to drive for Charlie and Jim Messina. Charlie launched around 4P+ and climbed out immediately. Jim had to wait a long time for a cycle to his liking before he launched and climbed out too. They headed to the river, with me chasing in Jim's truck. I shadowed them all the way down to the river and back to launch. They landed around 6:30P in the main field, joining 6 other pilots who took to the skies after Charlie and Jim started their out and return task. Bacil
