Pulpit Saturday June 1st
Looking to fly again at the Pulpit this Saturday if not too cross from the south. Looks like no precip so we can devote more time to commit aviation vs. last Sunday. Who can fly? Bacil

I can fly but now the current forecast models are not agreeing about conditions for either Friday or Saturday. This morning, Friday's predictions for the Pulpit had XC written all over them but now - Frustrating!

I'm working Sat but I do have Fri off it the weather works? I'll need to see if I can wangle it with the boss of me as well. Oh yeah, ... I'm still lurking, at least when I'm not in FLA, sunning myself.

Would love to do Friday John, but can't get away from that 4-letter work word.... Slightly W of NW@7 sfc, post-frontal, can't beat that.
During the week.
Again.

Thanks Mark, hope you are well. Just a shot in the dark. I have to work this weekend and it looked like the wx was a maybe so, what the hell. If no takers then maybe in about 10 days. Until then, have fun.
Re: Pulpit Saturday June 1st
Perfect conditions at the Pulpit today. Tomorrow I think the only sign of hope for a soaring flight is around the peak heat of the day (4:30P to 5:30P). There is a glimmer of hope that by late Sunday the front will have passed and the rain over to enable an evening soaring flight. Of course Monday AND Tuesday look great. Who's up for the late day Sunday gamble if it comes to fruition? Bacil
Re: Pulpit Saturday June 1st
Even though Pulpit worked on Mem day for JohnM and a PG contingent.... In spite of the light N forecast....
Tomorrow's is *soooo* darn light-W that I'm thinking of writing the day off.
Hoping that maybe a late day flight on Sunday will work.
And also considering working one day this weekend, with the hope of freeing up Monday for a WStock flight. Gotta check the meeting schedule....
Will wait until Sat AM to decide on at least that day of the weekend.
PS: Today sure looked like it had to be awesome somewhere.....

Re: Pulpit Saturday June 1st
Latest hourly for the Pulpit is now calm, becoming SW....
Hagerstown and Altoona have been reporting calm, latest obs S....
Winchester has been reporting calm, latest obs NW@5....
And meanwhile the weather station at the Puplit continues to report NW@6-7, gusting 9-10.
Hesitate to believe it's really going to be doable up there, but OTOH.... Opinions?

Re: Pulpit Saturday June 1st
I'm interested in Sunday late afternoon at Pulpit if the current forecast holds.
Re: Pulpit Saturday June 1st
I've bailed on a late-day flight at the Pulpit on Sunday. Working today instead, so I can take advantage of WS tomorrow.
