I might be in for Pulpit on Saturday although Ridgely doesnt look bad either. I'll watch weather and make a decision late in the week (or early Saturday morning).

It may have some north in it, which isn't the best for the Pulpit.? If NNW, and halfway decent velocity, I'll be heading for the SAC.? Daniel?

Pulpit LZ

Post by Matthew »

The Pulpit LZ is clear in the back field. The main field is mostly full of corn There's a small clear area in the middle and its clear in the breakdown area. But that's also small and goes downhill towards the road.

Might be moot. The forecast now looks NE-East.

Sissys land in the back!!!
There is a perfect swath right in the middle of the lower field. (H3)
just don't come up short or you'll eat corn.
Oh yeah, has to be blowing NW
Don't worry about it anyway I think 50% pilots last week went otb.

Regarding the Pulpit LZ ... when the choice is between a large, level, unobstructed landing vs. a narrow path between planted corn, ... the safe choice is obvious. I have made the mistake of choosing convenience over safety ... and it has taught me. This summer, I will opt for landing in the upper portion of the field and making the longer hike out. Last winter, I chose the upper field each time because I didn't want to risk tripping on the corn stubble.

Amen Sparky. I know Joe was just kidding, but yours are the type of
comments we should see and expect from those considered mentors in the
sport by the rest of us.
