Wind direction forecasts look good as does predicted surface speeds during the mid-late afternoon but the gust factor may be an issue. I'm going if the predictions don't ramp up.

Good day, after 4:30pm. Until then the air was "energized" with 90 degree direction changes accompanied with velocity changes (8 to 18 mph). When it finaly mellowed out, conditions were "like butter" (straight in @ 10 mph). A straight-line flight on the Sport 2 took me to within ~10 yards of the backyard fence that marks the west side boundary of the second field flanking the primary LZ field.

The primary LZ was soft today with shallow plowing ridges but not muddy. The winter wheat or grass has grown enough on it to almost cover it. Given what we have dealt with in the past - it’s good, but not croquet lawn good. The field beyond the primary has no detectable crop, it’s flatter/smoother and dryer with no plowing ridges. The parking area is okay but use caution. When driving in or out, any quick stops or starts will strip the surface of the field so go slow!
