- thermal to cloudbase, 'marked' by 416 smoke, outside Durango_July2018
It’s not every day we see a thermal, unless well marked by dust, straw, plastic bags from a dump, etc -- or, how about smoke? NW of Durango CO, from direction of 416. (Photo attached?) -- Anyone doubt that this is a thermal corkscrewing up to cloud? (definitely not a “jet stream”) Actually, I’d like to see if anyone has a good pic of a thermal. Anything to offer? --John
