Lookout Mountain (and why not to go there in the summer)

Post by Dunegoon »

Used my only vacation to go to Lookout Mountain this year. A rainy season for sure. My first trip there. Rain does not usually make happy campers or happy pilots. The field was so flooded that camping cars had to be rescued with a backhoe from the creek. I did like the little cabin and the lodge, but we missed the festivities. Had a nice visit to the Aquarium in Chattanooga which was the highlight of the week. Was able to talk to Steve P. about a variety of design and setup ideas. Some pilots were able to sneak in early or late flights, or between showers. Watched an entire season of "Wicked Tuna" one day as it rained. Did manage to get in one flight but no towing. Came home early and the WX continued to suck.

Should have gone to OBX.

Made this video right after I got back but never posted it. Heavy rain and traffic accidents on the way down and back. Just too damn depressing. :x
