Just flew Makapu yesterday!

Huge bucket list item for me, as watching videos of Dave goto hang gliding there inspired me to fly in the first place

I had the gopro on my helmet and took it off briefly for dat hawaii selfie

Really smooth air, wasnt too worried about getting knocked around out there

^^ It's a nova mentor 4 - light. Was able to fit that, the rapido, a reserve harness, and back protector into the ozone reversible oxygen harness! Super fun to be able to fit 2 winds & a reserve into a carry on

So that island is called rabbit island - and interestingly enough, when the wind really cranks it's big enough to cast a bit of turbulence over the main LZ with the prevailing trade winds.

The rotor off Rabbit Island is affectionately known as "rabbit shit." I was fortunate enough to fly the HG launch at Makapu'u in August 2015. My company dreadfully sent me there for work for 6 weeks, on 4 islands.
