Crestline

Well ... something new ...

I've been traveling for work, and have now been placed on a project in San Diego North County. And, I had the chance to fly Crestline in San Bernardino!

Quite a different experience. It does give one the gratitude for what we have on the East Coast with the spectacular scenery, opposed to brown and smog. But, it was one hell of a flight!

Launched in just over 15 mph winds. Being unfamiliar with the territory, lots of bowls and fingers, I didn't stay close enough to the ridge line to maintain lift early, so I had to start heading out, the LZ is on the other side of the next ridge, so I didn't want to take the chance of having to land in the bail out field.

For those interested, Here's the video;

It was dead calm in the LZ. Ended up coming in on the wheels.
