Pulpit Sunday 11/15/15

Post by Dunegoon »

Anyone interested in flying the Pulpit Sunday? Nice westerlies and warmer temps might make for some pleasant flying or just a chance to get together.

I'm thinking of driving up from DC to give it my first try. (I'm a P-3.)

The short story:

Some nice flying after 3PM. Up to 3.4k msl and 1:20 airtime. Landed at the driving range. Only one other pilot flew. Randy G. had a flock of H2s checking out conditions.

Not a bad evening to watch the sun go down in the valley and take a nice walk. Ask me sometime and I'll tell the rest of the story. I missed the usual crew.

P.S. Not a great photo but what the hey, it was a nice day.

Wow, really glad that you got out there and that the day was good! Very appropriate. Very timely. Gotta keep-on keepin' on.

And I'll be asking about that full story my friend! :)

After G-Man & Charlie launched, I waited a bit longer until I though there were some good cycles.
I felt 3 nice 5-10 second ones over the course of about 5 minutes so I suited up.

When I got to launch is was nothing but trash.

It looked nice up up in the sky from where I was standing.
I just couldn't get there.

Had a beer and broke down glider.
Better luck next time.
