Good turn out for the start of the 40th! Five pilots were at launch when I arrived at 10:30 and passed three cars/trucks loaded with gliders as I drove down the mountain. Here are some photos from this morning. After Matthew launched, I headed home for chores.

Re: Early/Late Breaking 40th News
We didn't fly again until 4pm. The winds and gusts were the main factor on waiting so long. There were many launchable cycles interspersed. After all my attempts get Matthew,Greg, or Hugh to go first, I decided to be the sacrificial virgin. Once one lemming goes, more seem to follow. I think the launch order was me, Greg, Matthew, Rich Elder, then Hugh for the last flight of the day. I flew for 1.5 hours (could have flown forever), and 3K over launch. I got behind launch one time that scared me enough to creep out front. I was still gaining altitude. I needed to get my vehicle from launch before they locked the gates so I attempted to lose altitude. I worked harder to lose altitude than fly the flight. Overall, a great day at the ROCK.

Quite a good turn-out to the party. Probably 30-40+ people. Thanks to the organizers.
