2015 Tater Hill Comp

Update from Tater Hill Comp July 25 - Aug 1
We had extraordinary weather, flyable from Jul 22 thru the Aug 1! It made up for last year in spades.
Tater Hill opened on Fri for pre-comp flying.
Registration started at 2 pm on Sat July 25 and we flew in the afternoon.
The comp started with an 8 am pilot's meeting in the LZ on Sunday, from then on we rode to the launch on Tater Hill and had the Pilots meetings, the Bill Heaner Clinics and the Task presentation.
There were 35 pilots who scored in the Open category and 12 pilots who scored in the Sport Category (shorter tasks in the valley) .
Sun: Task 1: 1 pm start, 29 k warm up in the valley
Mon: Task called, threatening weather, free fly pm
Tue Task 2: 1 pm start, to Deep Gap, turbulent @ goal, one pilot injured near goal
Wed: Task delayed then cancelled for over the back winds, free-fly launch w tail winds (only the brave)
Thu: Task 3: 2 pm start, 17k
Fri: Task 4: 2 pm start, 22k
Sat: task cancelled for high winds, free-flying pm
So we flew everyday, with 4 tasks flown with pilots in goal.

There were 7 pilots from Costa Rica, several of whom made goal!
