Bills Hill Saturday 7/11

Post by mingram »

I think it's worth the gamble for me based on the satellite and xcskies and how hungry I am to fly.

I haven't flown I a month and don't see any reason a light cross wind would cause me to not go. Just have to hope we actually get some wind at all. No wind is going to make it harder to catch a thermal but not impossible.

Since the LZ is to the south/right of launch that's the way I would turn if I'm not able to launch into a thermal.

The forecast does favor bringing my paramotor just in case there is no wind.

I will bring the club weed wacker and a machete and sheers. I think we should try to blaze a new trail from the new LZ up to launch and do some hike and fly!

Anyone else interested in gambling on a long drive?

Edith's Gap 7/12

Post by Dan T »

Matt,

I see you have the club weed whacker. Is there any chance we can talk you into heading out to Edith's Gap tomorrow morning? The slot is in bad need of maintenance. There appears to be some interest in getting an informal informal work party out in the morning.

If anyone else has any tools of destruction it would be very helpful if you could bring them out. I don't think we've reached the point where we need anything like a chain saw, but if we wait much longer we probably will.

It would be a shame to lose this site after all the trouble this club went to in order to get it reopened.
