Should be there at 10.

Won't Pulpit be right-cross, with possibility of rotor? I'm wondering if High Rock is the better call.

Right-cross? All winds aloft casts indicate a NW flow that may not be precisely straight in at launch but not cross enough to trigger takeoff issues. I may be missing something but I don't see anything in these predictions that suggest an issue at takeoff or on the ridge. Also not sure about rotor issues. Are you suggesting at the pad, ramp or over the lee side of the ridge?

I'm leaning toward High Rock.. I agree with Bodner--it looks North cross, colder and stronger at Pulpit.
But I will follow the lemmings-- even if it means the drive to Pulpit..... and then back to High Rock like so many times before.

Forecasts all over the map.... The 7:30 update is now calling for gusts to 24, all day, at High Rock. Supposedly lighter at Pulpit. My guess is that the models are in disagreement about the timing and strength of the frontal passage. Guess we'll see tomorrow!
(even toying with the thought of Woodstock; light, yes, but it's spring!)

G25 for the Pulpit as of the Sat 8:45pm NWS surface forecast... Going to be interesting to see what the AM forecasts are! Think I'll stop looking now....

AM casts still indicate soarable conditions at the Pulpit. From my "arm chair", WS predictions look to light and cross for HG ridge soaring. Headed to the Pulpit (should arrive at ~ 10).

Headed to the Pulpit. Looks ok later in the day after 4:00PM, but maybe not. I'll have my Zagi for a wind "tester."

Re: Pulpit 3/22/2015
Charley, Dennis and I arrived to ideal conditions (slight N cross with smooth 12 to 16 mph changes in speed). We decided that we would take turns soaring, with Dennis first off. However, during setup conditions slowly went from: that "let go" feeling -> to maybe -> to what the f*** just happened. By 12:30, our wind streamers were being shredded into thumbnail sized bits soon after they were attached. When you walk back to the setup area and watch peices of your streamers zoom overhead, that's not encouraging! I hope the WS crew soared high (but not to high). Any detailed gloating about their adventures will be mildly appreciated.

The Woodstock crew flew their 'tails' off, not withstanding the fact that they don't have any tails. I was with the the PG contingent and we flew all we could stand too. Some of us had a little more adventure than we were planning on, but everyone launched and landed safely and came home with something to talk about. Three of us managed to land in Strasburg. I was among them. It was a first for me on a PG.
