free email account

Post by brianvh »

In a few months I'm gonna get booted off this free university email
account I have and am looking to migrate somewhere else. Can people who
have hotmail or yahoo (or whatever else) fill me in on the good and the
bad?

I have a hotmail account, a yahoo account and a gmail account.
yahoo is sometimes very very slow to get email (days)
hotmail works okay, but has an outdated interface (as does yahoo)

i really love gmail though. (thanks Scott!)
you have oodles of storage and it organizes your emails into threads, even keeping whatever it was that you sent, so that you can follow a conversation you might be having with someone without having to scroll through a bunch of other messages to find out who said what when.

only problem with gmail is that I've sometimes have had problems connecting. but it has happened rarely and when it did happen (I think three times in the last 6 months, maybe?) I was able to get on within 5 minutes.
