Flying Today

Post by mcgowantk »

I am looking to see if the rain moves through this afternoon in time for a late day flight at the Rock or the Pulpit. Is anyone interested?

Interested. Looks like a long shot, but I'll put my glider on the car. I'll be at the Ship U. football game (over by 3pm) so in the area anyway. Maybe by 5pm the Pulpit will be flyable?

I'll be at the glider port about 4:00. Could be at HR by 5. I'll check the forum and if there seems to be activity for flying, I can head up there.

It looks promising but I am still suffering from a bad cold. So I will have to bail. Tom

HR. 10 to 20 on a Hall wind speed meter. STFI. Had a couple of sailplane friends with me to assist launch but felt is was a bit sporty with inexperienced crew (I'm light on a Falcon 170.) Clouds aloft were moving quite a bit. Didn't stick around long as I had a project at the g-port I wanted to complete. Could have been quite doable during the lulls and especially with a savvy crew.
