Ridgely on Mothers Day

Post by silverwings »

After a bit of a delay at the bridge (an extra 10 minutes) I arrived around 12:00 to find a few solo pilots set/setting up and a fairly cross wind out of the North. The forecast indicated a better wind direction and also indicated the wind would get lighter around 2:00 PM. Greg Sessa flew earlier and got 45 minutes, then did two sleds while I was setting up. Tom M and Dave P did a couple of sleds around 1:30 then a pilot flying a Sport 2 found a little bit of lift. It appeared that it might be getting better so Tom went again I towed up around 2:20 and we both found some good lift and were thermaling together numerous times. It was a very enjoyable flight for me and I chose to land after 1:50 and I got to 5300 AGL once which I think was the highest of all. Danny B, John Simon and a few others also flew with some soaring and some extended sleds.
