Jacks mountain?

Post by Patrick Halfhill »

Is anybody flying Jacks anymore? I really need to spend some time on ridges over the next few weeks. I'm willing to go on weekdays too.

Jacks is very actively flown by many PA pilots, but less so by MD/VA/DC pilots because it's a bit of a haul to get up there. A solid SE@10 is what people usually look for. You might try searching in the forums for "Jacks Mountain" to get an idea of when people have headed up that way, and the forecasts that tempted them.

It's an awesome site! You can land out front or over the back, with nary a concern about rotor, and the ridge is quite long.
