Not sure if I'm posting this in the right forum...
I just got the USHPA paper yesterday and was delighted to read Michelle Haag's article. Very cool to see this in the magazine! Many thanks for the nice write-up Michelle! I'll even let you get away with saying I only won 1 day when I actually won 2
I was only able to go to one of the week-ends but hope I can do better next year. Sure is a nice event to take part of.
Seeing our local sites, pilots and so on in the magazine makes me feel all warm inside, perhaps I should try and write up something as well to keep this trend going...(we were just in the paper recently due to improvements to High Rock).
East Coast flying is great!

Re: The Highland Challenge - magazine article
Just read Michelle Haag’s account of this year’s Highland Challenge (USHPA, December issue) and it made me smile! The summer-long experience, its organizer, pilots and Highland are collectively one of the best examples of “what’s right” about learning to fly higher and farther in region 9. Haag’s description highlights the fact that Charlie’s efforts have opened a new world for those that want to learn from others about “flying-elsewhere”. Haven’t participated in the Challenge and most likely never will, but I know “good” when I see it. Thanks Michelle, for spending the time and effort to tell others about region 9’s Institute of Higher XC Learning! Ward

After flying in the Highland Challenge the year before I can tell you from a first hand account that its a well run event. If you have not had the chance to fly competition this is tailor made for you. You will enjoy every minute of it and the guys flying in this meet are excellent and very patient mentors..Hats off to Charlie for taking this on.. Rich
