Pulpit Sunday 7/21

Post by sight »

Sunday looks like it might work at Pulpit. NW winds at 2 to 6 mph.

Anyone else entertaining the idea?

I'm seeing light East winds. Looks like its too early to call, but I'm keeping an eye on it.

So the usual PG LZ (the official secondary LZ) has been planted with crops. For PGs the bailout field to the right of launch is safe to use. Jono reports that the landowners are super friendly and that their son even gave him a ride to launch!

Matt,

I guess I will just be keeping an eye on the weather tomorrow and go from there.

To clarify, the bailout field that is safe to use you are talking about the field that is has "Mountain" from the mountain view inn call out in the Site Guide?

It's below it, yes. If you follow the powerline cut from the right of launch down the mountain you run into some houses with open fields which are the bailout LZs I'm talking about. We've hiked back up the powerline (actually walking just next to it through the woods to avoid the high grass and for shade).

Pulpit was a bust. Calm, L&V and mostly over the back. Rod and I did a little site maintenance clearing out some bushes below launch.
