It’s time to start thinking about the Tennessee Tree Toppers Team Challenge 2013 which will be held on September 1- September 7th. It’s a great opportunity to learn about cross country flying, competition skills, and hang gliding in general. There will be daily seminars and presentations covering every aspect hang gliding including: launching, landing, thermaling, weather forecasting, and much more.

- Current USHPA member
- Tennessee Tree Topper member (Signup available at the site)
- H3
- Cliff Launch Signoff
Suggested Gear:

- To be legal and facilitate communications, pilots should have at least a “technician” level ham radio license and have a radio with a PTT system (Push to talk).
- My teammates are practicing team flying tactics using Condor, a sailplane simulator. (I know it’s a little geeky but it has really helped my flying and it’s a great way to practice teamwork and communication.)

Re: Team Challenge 2013
The team challenge might well be the best way for an aspiring XC pilot to grow his or her skills in a short period of time. I encourage anyone who can make it to sign up. Team up with people who you don't already know. Make sure to try to include at least one Tennessee local on your team. They will teach you a lot.
