New to Forum

Post by Lucky_Chevy »

Hey, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm new to CHGPA and to the forum. My name is Dan Lukaszewicz; I'm a H3 and have spent the last 6 years flying almost exclusively at Blue Sky. I fly with a great buch of guys and Steve Wendt taught me just about everythink I know about hanggliding. Last year I decided expand my horizons. I went to the TTT in the fall and fell in love with flying cross country and mountain flying. I'll be flying in the upcoming ECC in the sport class. I'm hoping to learn about some of the local flying sites and meet some cool people.

Pleasure to meet you!!

Hey Dan,

I'm in the same boat...most of my flying has been at BS and, more recently Highland. I love both places, but am trying to expand my horizons as well. Hope to see you out there.

Dan / Brad,
You should consider flying in the Highland Challenge: https://sites.google.com/site/highlandchallenge2013/

I have a 2-1/2 year old baby girl at home. Sometimes it a bit of challenge to get time to fly. The Highland challenge looks cool but there is no way my wife is going to let me have that many weekends to myself. I'm happy to be able to fly in the ECC and am planning to attend the TTT again this year.

Dan,

If you can't fly every day, no big deal. It's a cheap event and you will have a blast flying tasks with us on the days that you can make it.

Charlie / Matt

Thanks for the suggestion. I need to get my H3. I have more than enough hours. Just need to hit my spots and take the test. Hope to do that very soon at BS or Highland.

Dan,
Bring your wife and baby :). I have an 8 week old girl and plan to bring the wife and baby. There is usual a big crowd on those weekends so there's a nice social aspect. Also as Matt mentioned it's ok to skip weekends, thought it will hurt your changes of winning the meet, it won't diminish the fun when you can make it.

Wow you guys are pursuasive. I might just sign up and fly a few tasks. Highland is a great flight park and I'll take all the good flying and XC I can get.
