I'm heading out on an extended flying trip to do some mountain flying and some speed wing descents.
Locations: Ireland: coastal soaring & inland hills descents. Maneuvers in Annecy France. Mountains in Verbier Switzerland. Coastal soaring in Israel.
Anybody who has flown these spots or wants info from me please let me know. Thanks. Pat

Hi Patrick,
There are two HG/PG organizations on the Island of Ireland: The Irish Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (http://www.ihpa.ie) and the Ulster organization in Northern Ireland (http://www.uhpc.f9.co.uk).
On the left side of the IHPA home page, click on "visiting Ireland to fly."
Scroll down on the Ulster site for a contact email address and telephone number.
In 1996 I flew with pilots from both clubs, but since then lost contact with them.
Here's a link to early 1970's hang gliding in Northern Ireland: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2J3BT-NxV6c
Here's one to a primer on HG/PG in general and to free flight in Ireland: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxQEXS1Oasg
Hope you get good weather. I rained during most of last year's Summer in Ireland - there's a cost for being green.
John

Annecy is on my Bucket List. The Bulgarian pilots I met a few years ago all said that it's a don't miss location. I'd appreciate hearing your take on it when you return.

Thanks. I'll provide an update on the trip with info & pictures/video.
As it turns out there is the annual meeting of the Irish HGPA and Fly-In when I arrive. They have already welcomed me onto the agenda and will host me around the island's flying sites. Got to love the warm and gracious Irish! Fingers crossed on good weather and beer cooler than lukewarm.
