Thinking of going out to Daniels tomorrow.
Any of you guys/gals want to come join in for a late December flight?

Might be decent. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong week to party two nights in a row. Y'all have fun.

Looks like too much W winds, will not make it out to Daniels today after all. Maybe Pulpit?

Dickey's maybe? Surface forecasts are good, upper levels a bit high. Any interest?

Pulpit was a bit cross and kinda dumpy, I sled ded and went for the bailout. Charlie saw what I had and is bagging it. There were a couple of small thermals but I got to them so low I didn't aggressively work them. Vario said 8 minutes.

Well, I was kind of sorry I didn't go out today, guess I didn't miss out on too much.
Hope for some good days coming up.
Yey for the pilots that went out in spite of weather not too favorable. Gotta take what you can...

Sleds, extendos and brief soaring flights at Daniel's.

Walt (H2) had an excellent launch in light conditions and an excellent approach into the LZ full of cows.

Dan Tomlinson and Karen had buoyant sleds in PGs. Lazlo got briefly over launch for his first flight-- as did I for a 10 minute flight. Dan lent me his PG for a second flight and I got in a couple of passes above the ridge for 14 minutes. Lazlo flew again and also got briefly above launch.

Winds were great when we arrived and then backed off to 3-5 once we got set up. Still, it was nice and warm and we all flew and then stopped at the Early Mountain Winery on the way home.

Dickey's was lighter than forecast. Managed a fifteen minute soaring flight and a nice hike to my car. Beautiful day.

It was a wonderful spring day! The weather was very pleasant: sunny, bright, and warm. I could get acquittance with Daniels' site. The instructions provided by Mathew, Don, and Karen were very good and I could have a very safe flight and landing. Mathew made sure that most of the cows were busy eating the wind socks, so I could easy land far away from them.

I would like to thank again my observer and fellow pilots for that great day! I am looking forward to flying again with you guys & girl! Hopefully, next time we would be able to land close to the winery ;)

I wish you all a merry x-mas and happy new year.!

Cheers
