OT: Verizon Net Speed Cost Reduction

Post by CraginS »

For all the Verizon internet customers:
Just checked my account at myverizon.com, and in my bundle plan, saw that it would only add $20 /month to upgrade my TV to add Cinemax & Showtime, PLUS double my Net speed from 75 down/35 up to 150 down/65 up (digital phone service unchanged).
Not being interested in the movie package, I adjusted the TV option back to what i have now.
Amazing result!
If I keep phone and tv the same as current, but upgrade my net speed to the 150/65, the bill f goes DOWN by $25 /month.
There is a one-time $100 charge for a tech to deliver a new gigabit speed wireless router, but that obviously amortizes in only 4 months of savings.

This is all after I took my net speed from 25/10 to 75/35 for $5 less per month just last summer. That one required a new 2 year contract. Not sure if this one does, or not (page was unclear on that tidbit).

So .. check your own options. You might find a Christmas deal waiting for you, too.

Well, bad news - the Verizon web site lied. The order never could process at the great rate the site offered. And every human I spoke with swore there is no such deal.
BUT - i had so much hassle with so many phone calls, I got $15 a month knocked of my bill, and a year of free movie package.
But still at my 75 down 35 up speed.

I suppose I will survive.

Merry Christmas, all!
