Deer Season

Post by stevek »

It is deer hunting season. For those of you who like to walk back up keep in mind that there are folks out there with guns who shoot at anything they think is a deer. And you would be surprised at all the things that a man can mistake for a deer if he has been up in a tree for 2 hours with a bottle of Jack Daniels. The Pulpit and Dickey Ridge can be pretty scary. Sometimes it can work to your advantage. Got a ride back up yesterday at the Pulpit from a hunter who was convinced I would never make it back alive.

I gotta say last time I flew (at the Ridgely flight park, not even in the mountains) I heard multiple shots being fired on the ground and started thinking: I probably make a pretty fun target for some drunken dude out there - kinda freaked me out a bit...hope no pilot ever gets mistaken as a target!
