Don Clark

Post by Richard Hays »

For any old timers that might lurk these pages....I regret to inform you that Don Clark has passed away. Lost a battle with skin cancer.

Don Clark was local Baltimore area pilot back in the early and mid seventies. He flew sites in Maryland; Va. WVa; and of course Pa. If I recall he had a standard rogallo to start...then eventually a Seagull Seahawk? I remember flying with him at Oregon Ridge when I was just learning to fly myself ( 1976 ). And watching him fly off of High Rock. Don was a regular fixture at Econ-O-Flight in Hampstead Maryland and was more than likely one of the first MHGA members in the first MHGA incarnation back in and around 1972.

If anybody knows how to get ahold of Ed Stubbs, Sam Dawson, or Bud Brown....please let me know and or pass on this info. Maybe even Vic Powell.

Don was 63 years old. Memorial services this Saturday at 2pm in Lutherville, Md. I will attempt to be there and represent the MHGA and CHGPA.
