Anybody up for some flying on Wednesday. Looks like it could be some nice post frontal conditions. Not sure how north or strong it will be, so we can make a call on the location Tues night/Wed morning.

There is a slim chance I might try to make it out for an afternoon fly.

Sounds good. My ETA at the Rock will be around 1230ish.
Looks like lots of north in it and I think they received ALOT of rain locally yesterday so we will see how the day pans out.

If anyone is curious, it was good today. Mostly 5 to 15 with the majority in the middle. I didn't have an altimeter but getting to Cb was quick but upwind was tough. Wish I had an earlier start but still got as much air as my shoulders could handle. Jon and I both flew once and Amy graciously helped with everything.

Re: Flying Wednesday Sept 19th
Fun day at the Rock and just a beautiful day to be outside. The clouds in the morning looked amazing. It was streeted up to the NNW all the way across the valley. But every half hour that went by from 12pm on the clouds got flatter and dried up more and more. I should have lauched earlier. I launched at about 2pm and slowly worked my way above launch. It was several minutes before I found a nice thermal that I was able to climb out in. Got to 1000' over but found myself drifting to the south (and slightly east). I thought that I would be able to fly slowly upwind in a lift line that I had imagined would be there so I pulled out of the thermal and slowly flew upwind...this I figured would get me back out front and put me in a position to climb and drift south some again getting higher. Didn't happen...no consistent lift line. Instead of waiting around in the area for something else to come through I decided to fly upwind/crosswind (slighly cross to the NNE) in hopes of finding something going on further up the ridge. Nothing found. Lost quite a bit in the search and groveled in some bubbles over the train tracks and again over the LZ but nothing to get established in. Should have maxed out in my first thermal
Big thanks to Amy for coming out with me, helping launch me and driving ! Thank you! Also a big thanks to Kevin for not only helping out on the wires but for giving me some great insight on the day and flying in general. I really enjoyed talking with you man, thank you.
