Incident at the North Site (Sacramento) yesterday?

Post by Danny Brotto »

A reference to this accident was found on the Oz Report. This would have occured Monday evening. Sounds like The Sac... anybody know anything about this? Seems like the pilot is okay... Karen?

KLINGERSTOWN - A woman suffered minor injuries when the hang glider she was flying crashed just before 7 p.m. Monday.

A supervisor at the Schuylkill County Communications Center said the incident was reported at 6:41 p.m. that a woman crashed a hang glider and was suspended about 60 feet in the air on the Mahantongo Mountain, near the Hubley and Upper Mahantongo township lines.

Multiple units from Schuylkill, Dauphin and Northumberland counties were called to assist, and managed to get the woman down to safety at 8:17 p.m., the supervisor said.

The woman was evaluated at the scene but refused medical treatment or transport to a hospital.

All units cleared the area at 9:15 p.m., according to communications center records.

Was the SAC. Karen is OK. She is sore from hanging in the tree for a good while. No injuries. The press, as usual, blew it out of proportion. Glider got extracted today. No apparent damage other than leaf rash. Some wires will be changed and the frame checked. New hang loops needed since they were cut to get her down from the top of the tree. Bacil

Well.... Cr@p! :x

Many of us have 'been-there, done-that', and I sure hope that both Karen and glider aren't too banged up.

Keep us posted, ok? Lots of pilots are thinking about you Karen!!!
