Hello everybody,
Just moved to Arlington, VA, and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm an H-3 with a WW Sport 2 and have done most of my flying at Lookout Mountain in/around the Chattanooga area. New to the area and have already noticed how many flying sites (awesome!) there are around here. My glider & gear have been sitting for a while (been overseas) so will need to do the standard pre-flight stuff before taking it in the air. Anybody know someone who inspects/packs chutes around the DC area? Thanks much and look forward to hopefully meeting y'all and joining in the fun!
Cheers,
Greg Kreuder

Highland can do this. http://www.aerosports.net/
Very good tow site and community as well. I live in Roslyn and I think it's the closest HG site, pulpit i think is next closest.

Re: Greetings all
Welcome Greg! I sure hope that you are able to get into the air soon, so that you can enjoy the flying opportunities here in the mid-Atlantic. I think that we sometimes get a little jaded about the area sites: aerotow, truck-tow, slot-launch, ramp-launch, cliff-launch, even ocean soaring, all no more than about 2.5 hours of DC. So it's fun to hear a newcomer's enthusiasm!
That said, I'm not viewing this weekend with much enthusiasm, at least for HG prospects. Sunday at Highland Aerosports looks to be the best bet, if you aerotow. The PG crowd might try for Bills on Sat, and perhaps Daniel's on Sunday. Both are HG too, but given the light wind forecasts... Eh.
But we'll see what we see. Hope to see you in the skies soon!
Cheers,
MarkC

Thanks for the advice, gents- I'll swing by Highland and drop off my gear so they can look it over. Look forward to seeing y'all in the air soon.
