One of the instruments in my sailplane is a sunlight readable PDA running Windows Mobile CE 5.0 operating system. I'm running SeeYou Mobile on it. One of the map pages is set up to put down a "bread crumb" trail; essentially a line showing when I've been. If I'm in a bit of lift, a blur dot in put onto the line. A red dot is but down if I'm in lift about by McCready setting. Greater than McCready gets a yellow dot. This display helps me center thermals or helps me get back to thermals I've lost. It's also quite useful in helping to map out areas of wave lift. The trail records for 20 minutes in the past.

The MiniMap is a bit clunky for HG use and most PDA's are not readable in sunlight. NAVITER (the guys that make SeeYou and SeeYou Mobile) will be releasing a sunlight readable PDA in August called the OUDIE 2. That device will surely find it's way into HG and PG use.
