Happy July 4th!

Post by Batman »

Long time no see my friends! Seems life has finally returned to some sense of normality & I've landed on my feet in Madison, WI. I moved here last August, and have taken over as Executive Chef at a local country club, cooking & golf combined. I've finally returned the Batwing to the sky, launching on aerotow here in Wisconsin for the first time in two years. I did a few scooter tows in Phoenix to learn how to tow off the chest in my Viper harness, but did it for the first time to tow height last Saturday. I was extremely pleased that my body remembered how to fly and ended up with a perfect no stepper landing. Temp on the ground was 96 and still 92 at 2800'. Thermals here are much different that back East, averaging 500 fpm up, but very small bullets with extremely sharp edges, a few turns within and you had to go hunting for it again. Not sure if I'll make it out, but the Thursday forecast is 6-700 fpm up with cloudbase around 12,000'. Unusual for Wisconsin so hopefully I can sneak out to take advantage of it! I hope life finds you all well and sorry I fell off the map for a while. Life was extremely turbulent and I was white knuckled on the basetube so to speak. Hopefully I can make it out to DC in the Fall and maybe join you in the air if the opportunity presents. Will bring my harness just in case!

Batman. Glad to hear you are back in the sky.

96 degrees on the ground and 92 in the air!

Wow! I wish we had such nice cool temps.

Say hello to all my buds at Whitewater. I have been flying with Dale Maas and Matt Thoreson for 35 years. They are great people as are the rest in that club.

Excellent news update, Chris!
If they let you out of the kitchen, do you get free green fees?
By the way, when Kay and I celebrated our anniversary at Restaurant Eve last winter, they had good words to say about "Goose."
