Good day at Highland! For me, the day served up a very rough slingshot start! Jim (my tug pilot) flew into a strong thermal ~30 seconds into the tow which I entered just as he was leaving it. It was hard to tell if his descent was faster than my ascent. Before I could release, the weak link snapped and I was initiating the downwind leg of an “in the airport” flight. The second image was taken just after the break. As I came around to set up the landing, I flew back into the thermal that had jump-started my adrenalin flow. Several dozen 360s later and above 5K msl, I was at cloud-base. The images show this first climb of the day. I made it back to cloud-base on two other climbs.

Nice photos Ward! it was great seeing you there..wish I could have flown with you but didnt have a very good day on Sat ..never hitting anything solid but had a decent day Sunday getting to cloudbase and doing a little jaunt to the east..landed near the bay..beautiful views of the shoreline..wish I had a camera on board...Take Care..Rich
