Hi guys,
I just saw on the OZReport that the ECC is in jeopardy of being cancelled. Already this year the Midwest Comp, and the Texas single surface shootout have been cancelled. These smaller comps are more friendly and relaxed places to load up on a ton of XC miles and fly with some of the best in the world. Paris Williams and Larry Bunner are both flying at Highland this year and though cliche, it is very true that flying with these guys and a host of other talented XC pilots is the surest way to improve your XC skills quickly.
For those who wish to have an even more relaxed week, there is sport class. It's a perfect opportunity to fly with great pilots and those with less experience while racking up some hours.
Flying at Highland for the ECC is a stress free way to learn or compete, there are landing fields for miles around... most of which are simply enormous flat farm fields. The locals are friendly and the retrieve and driving time is relatively easy and short.
The Highland crew is asking for signup prior to May 5th, so we have only a few days left. If you are considering it, please go ahead and follow the link to Highland at http://aerosports.net/ecc.html and don't delay.
Thanks guys,
John
