Is Smithsburg still open?

Usually it closes toward the end of April and when it does, the sign near the hg setup area is turned to say "Closed". Eddie Miller who lives in the area sometimes let's us know and so far no one has seen that it is closed or reported it closed. If you were to go there and even if the sign was not turned to closed but it was clear that you would do damage to crops, then it is advisable to not fly. Grass in the HG setup area may be getting high but that is not crop. Crops are usually planted in the landing area and sometimes on the hill.
