Taking a break from HG

Post by A0213 »

First off, let me start off by saying to everyone….

Thank you all for the constant support, encouragement, and advice that you all have provided me with the past year and a half. I am lucky to be surrounded by so many great people.

With that said, after much thought and deliberation, I have made the decision to take an indefinite break from hang gliding… and I am selling my gear and equipment. I have no immediate plans to return to the sport, however who knows what the future holds.

I still plan on coming out to the sites with Jon, so I will see you all out there :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

-Amy

Hey Amy. If I knew I was going to push you out of the sport by coming back, I would have stayed in Cali! j/k
I'm glad we'll still get to see you when you come out with Jon. I'll keep my ears open for anyone looking for like-new equipment.
Take care.

I agree with Larry, without knowing more about where you're coming from, asking why/where/how in the forums isn't really an appropriate thing to do...

BUT!!!! That said, I can't help but mention that there are many ways to enjoy HG flights: In the mountains, at the flight park, via aerotow, via trucktow, or even just out at the training hill, for the hill-of-it.

And beyond HG: There's PG, and sailplanes, and powered flight. Or heck, how about kite-surfing?

So if the skies continue to call, there are lots of ways to answer Amy. :-)

And I'm really glad that we'll continue to see you at the local sites!

Best,

MarkC

Amy,

I know this was a difficult decision. I'm so happy that you'll still be coming to the flying sites because I love hanging out with you. And do come play at Smithsburg with us and the PGs just for fun sometime -you might like it!

Amy,

Don't worry - we'll still love you just the same. Let me know if I can interest you in some other form of aviation (like sailplanes)...

Amy showed up on my block last night and fortunately the neighbor was okay so we had a few moments to chat. Everybody’s posts made her feel she wAs still loved and she seemed to take encouragement from the fact that you guys even let Me still hang around and I’m not nEarly as good lookin’. And she still gives great hugs so shoot, what’s not to like, right!
I told her that it was nice to know that she would still be around the corner, looking out for me and my neighborhood crew.
