I'm available to fly today. I'd rather fly Woodstock if it's suitable. I won't have access to the computer so please call me. Sorry I am not an observer.

Sleds for everybody today. A little light and a little cross. Still a nice day to fly in the mountains......I was in a T-shirt for part of the day and think I got a little sunburn!!

Re: Pulpit Friday Nov 25th
Last Friday I got my 100th flight this year. The real reason though is I took a lot of pattern flights.
My landings were not very consistent and I decided that it would be a good idea to improve them. In an effort to improve landings they turned even worse. After a few tries someone noticed how dramatically I would slow down during transition (hands from the base-tube to the down-tubes, one at a time). Funny because I had worked out that many years ago, that blindsided my self- analysis. In addition I would start the approach with additional speed. Making it more difficult to think that speed was a problem. Thinking back, I have never really solved maintaining proper speed after transition. I just made it even worse trying to solve it.
That was the ticket.
Bringing down our kites safely has many ingredients and good speed on final is part of that. I don’t want to oversimplify and say speed is all you need. In my case it was an important ingredient. The best test is to manage it in multiple conditions light, strong, uphill cross and yes sometimes downwind.
Thanks to Amy and Peter to help me climb the ramp with the glider.
