Seeing as this weekend concludes Highland's 2011 season, I couldn't resist heading over here after Daniel's, in the hopes of a flight tomorrow. Great weather for camping, that also had something to do with it. At the moment, hangin' in the airport lounge, tunes cranked, and enjoying a final brew of the day
The 3k forecast is pretty darn strong early, but then it's supposed to lighten up a bit later in the day. If you don't have any other plans, come on out and give it a shot. If there's no flying to be had, we could head over to the KentMorr restaurant on Kent Island, very nice place!

Re: Highland Sun20Nov?
Well..... When I heard the wind starting to blow around 3am, I kinda knew that Sunday wasn't going to happen.
Great night to camp, no bugs, no dew, and _just_ cold enough to appreciate being warm and comfy in a sleeping bag. Great stars too!
But it kept on blowing, and it was blowing in the morning, and most of the local NWS sites were reporting gusts of 20+ when I checked at 11am. Finally threw in the towel at noon. I think maybe the Highland gang would have liked to see me do so sooner! It was really nice of them to be willing to hang around in wait-and-see-mode.
Headed back via the scenic route, scoping out restaurants and bars: Bridges and The Narrows at Kent Narrows; Annies just over the narrows, Rams Head Tavern outside Stevensville, and Rustico Cafe & Wine Bar in Stevensville. Also explored to the north end of Kent Island, and then a quick swing through Annapolis. I think my conclusion is that I've gotta get outta the DC area more often!
