Interest yes. I have no info as I did not see Calvert Cliffs in the CHGPA site guide. Where is it, and is it PG-able? If so, would a P2 require an observer?

It is a 110 foot vert cliff face on the western shore of the Bay 30 miles south of the Bay Bridge at a camp called Matoaka beach cabins. It is not in the site guide. For PG, there is a grassy lawn where you can lay your canopy out before getting to the edge of the cliff but I would recommend plenty of experience in kitting and keeping the wing aloft prior to launch. There is also a glider eating tree near launch so watch out in a north cross. There is also kudzoo on the edge of the cliff to avoid so you really have to have excellent launch skills. Plus you are landing on a narrow beach so the tide should be out. Other than that it is a great place to fly. Not trying to be sarcastic here. Just trying to paint a realistic picture of the place. If you want to check it out you can call me at home tonight.

Thanks for the info Gary. It sounds like a tricky site with some challenges. Maybe I won't fly this site just yet :)

I can't go tomorrow, but I'm dying to ridge soar a coastal site. I'll keep this in mind on the next ENE day. Is this site also known as Gary's Beach?
