Hey there, I'm a paraglider pilot in town on business. I have some free time for flying and am hoping to get out and fly Friday thru Sunday, May 13-15. I realize the forecast doesnt look real great, but if anyone is heading out and thinks there is any possibility of getting in the air and willing to give a site introduction, please let me know! I have a car and am happy to meet up anywhere there is some flying going on!
I've seen the posts about the fly-in at Pulpit. If it looks like it is still on, I will try to join in.
I'm a current USHPA member, been flying about 2 years with about 75 hours. I live in Hong Kong and do most of my flying there. Happy to answer any questions about flying there if anyone has any interest.
Hope to hear from somebody if there is any flying to be had this weekend.

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to the Washington DC area. Unfortunately I'm afraid you might have picked a bad time to try to go flying here. The forecasts are calling for rain for most of the weekend. Keep an eye on the server especially the announcements about the Pulpit fly in. If the forecasts back off a bit and the winds aren't forecasted to be stronger than about 12 mph from the WNW there will be pilots there this weekend. The Pulpit is on Hwy 30 just east of McConnellsburg Pa. If it looks flyable someone will make sure you get directions to it.

Re: Visiting pilot - flying 13-15 May
PS,
The Pulpit always blows stronger that the surface actuals and forecast. For a PG it will blow out at about 10 mph. Stronger than that and the PGers will probably go to Woodstock. Woodstock is a NW site that accommodates winds up to about 15 mph forecast. It's usually lighter than the forecast there.
Most of the PG pilots, except us biwingal pilots use a different server to contact each other. The server owner monitors this site and will contact you if you leave an email address.

Thanks Dan. I can be reached at sealsjeff (atsign) gmail.com. (sorry, can't fast an at sign on the device I'm writing this from). I realize it doesn't look promising. But even parawaiting and checking out the flying sites is better than sitting in the hotel watching cnn Is anyone flying friday that you know of?
