Local hang-glider pilot finds suitable employment at last

Post by mcelrah »

[from Dan Tuckwiler via Facebook in response to query about High Rock new ramp plans]
Hey Hugh!
Sorry I didn't see this before the meeting. I haven't gone digging yet. Olivia came into town and then I had to start work last week. But check this out.... No more fence companies! I saw an ad for a position, got an interview and hired on the spot by......none other than Wills Wing! I'm working in the sail loft making and applying (with 2-sided tape) all of the batten pockets, ribs, velcro, everything that gets sewn to the main panels. I'll learn to sew at some point but no rush right now. I'm pretty effin stoked! Best part - I get to fly the WW demo gliders whenever (when Steve gets back from Wallaby next week) like a T2C!!!! Haven't flown one yet but I can't wait to. Anyways, I'll to find the high rock stuff and get it you ASAP. Hope Spring gets there soon for you guys!

[Way to go, Dan!]

You'll be working alongside Matt Barker--a former Lookout and TTT pilot who was also hired by Wills. He had a hand in the sail on my T2--the best handling topless I've ever flown.

Pretty neet Dan. You get to learn all the ins and outs of making gliders. What happened regarding your scheduled job with the fence company? Keep in touch on the forum and lets us know.

Say high to my friend Matt Barker. I met him in Florida a couple years ago. Awesome dude.
