Dry C anyon, Alamogordo, NM

The Southern New Mexico fliers hold an annual Columbus weekend fly-in. I have been there the last two years. I you want to have three or four good flying days this is the place to be for the Columbus Day weekend. The primary cite is Dry Canyon adjcent to Alamogordo with a nice green level LZ that is 2400 feet below launch. The site is both HG and PG friendly (two separate launch areas). IT is a 9 to 1 glide to the LZ so you do need to choose your launch conditions with some care; however conditions have cooperated every day that I have been there. I plan to attend the fly-in again next year. Come join Zelda and me so we can have a larger contingent from Virginia.
