High Rock Sunday

Post by Kelvin Pierce »

Kurt and I flew High Rock on Father's Day. We both enjoyed very nice evening glass off conditions for about 1.5 hours each and 1500' over launch. I flew from 6:00 to 7:30. Randy met me in the LZ when I dropped my truck off to tell me the soy beans have been planted. It looks like they have just sprouted as you can see little green rows of leaves if you look closely. He asked that we try to land in the middle strip he left for us and to not drive onto the field. When Kurt and I were breaking down however there were two guys driving all over the field in their ATV's  . The steps up to the launch are in need of some help as it is very difficult to navigate the first step. The area under the rear of the pad is also eroding away quite a bit.
